Nichols is professor of strategy and policy and a former chairman of the Strategy and Policy Department at the U.S. Naval War College, where he holds the Forrest Sherman Chair of Public Diplomacy. He is also a senior associate of the Carnegie Council on Ethics and International Affairs, and visiting professor of political science at La Salle University.
