Rajmohan Gandhi, a former member of the Rajya Sabha (the Indian parliament’s upper house), is a visiting professor in the Program in South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His latest book is Ghaffar Khan: Nonviolent Badshah of the Pakhtuns (Penguin India). He is also the author of The Good Boatman, a biography of his grandfather, Mohandas Gandhi.
