Twin rate in Sweden for firstborn children. Statistics are based on the Swedish register data. To compute the monozygotic and dizygotic twinning rates, we apply Weinberg’s (1901) rule. The vertical lines indicate the period in which more than 99% of the mothers in our sample gave birth to their first child.
