Notes: Defamilialization is measured as the proportion of care work performed by paid caregivers. Aging is measured as the proportion of care work delivered to adults. For instance, the defamilialization value of .19 for total care work time in 1965 indicates that 19% of total care work time was provided by paid caregivers (and that 81% was provided by unpaid caregivers). The aging value of .14 corresponding to unpaid care time in 1965 indicates that 14% of unpaid care time was delivered to adults (and that 86% was delivered to children).
