General Editor's Introduction

As TSQ nears its tenth volume year, this open-call, nonthemed final issue of volume 9 brings 2022 to a close, yet this issue does not usher in any sense of finality or closure. The disruptions that once were categorized as temporary owing to COVID-19 have installed themselves as the new normal or “business as usual.” This has pushed the editors of TSQ to reconsider how we can more effectively serve the ever-expanding community of scholars interested in producing, reading, and engaging with trans studies scholarship, and volume 10 will inaugurate that shift. As is often mentioned in the general editor's introductions, submissions continue to grow—and we as an editorial collective continue to do our best to meet demand and expand the reach of the journal.
