The I in Trans Genre: An Interview with Juliet Jacques

Chiara Pellegrini is a PhD candidate in English literature at Newcastle University. Her project focuses on contemporary novels and autobiographies with gender-variant first-person narrators. Her background is in queer theory, trans studies, narrative studies, and continental philosophy. She is currently organizing the international conference Feminist, Queer, Trans . . . New Directions for Narrative (Newcastle University, April 2020) and has recently published two articles: “Posttranssexual Temporalities: Negotiating Canonical Memoir Narratives in Kate Bornstein's Gender Outlaw and Juliet Jacques's Trans” (2019) and “Adaptation as Queer Touching: Transgressing the Boundaries of Bodies and Texts in The Safety of Objects” (2019).
