Here . . . but Disappeared
Cosmo Whyte (whose work also appears on the covers of this issue) was born in Jamaica in 1982. He has exhibited nationally and internationally. He is the recipient of the Edge Award (2010); the International Sculpture Center’s Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award (2015); the Artadia Award (2016); the Drawing Center’s Open Sessions Fellowship (2018); the Working Artist Award (2018); the Art Matters Award (2019); and the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award (2019). His work is in the public collection of the National Gallery of Jamaica; the High Museum, Atlanta; the 21c Collection; the Hallmark Art Collection; and the Pérez Art Museum Miami. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Art at Florida State University, Tallahassee.
