Kate Marquez lives in Klamath Falls, Oregon, where they are on the board of the local community college. Kate was a first runner-up for Hunger Mountain’s 2017 nonfiction prize, a semifinalist in the 2016 Kore Press Memoir Award contest, a finalist for the Trilogy Award in nonfiction from Hidden River Arts, and they received honorable mention for the 2016 Red Hen Press Women’s Prose Prize. A story of Marquez’s under the pseudonym Emma appeared in Sex Work: Writings by Women in the Sex Industry (1987).
