“Meditations on Traveling Diasporically: Jean-Ulrick Désert and Negerhosen2000” examines Negerhosen2000, the complex multivisual performance project by Haitian-born artist Jean-Ulrick Désert. Jerry Philogene argues that Désert's transplanted Caribbean flaneur is an emblematic representative of sartorial representation and black modernity whose goal is to utilize artistic practice as a mode for radical black subjectivity.
