Lynn Hunt
Vanessa R. Schwartz teaches history and art history at the University of Southern California. She writes about modern visual culture in France and America and is currently working on a book about jet-age aesthetics and coediting a volume about the history of news pictures. She has edited a special issue of the Journal of Visual Culture with Lynn Hunt.
Lynn Hunt recently retired from the University of California, Los Angeles, after a thirty-nine-year teaching career that included thirteen years at the University of California, Berkeley, and eleven at the University of Pennsylvania. Her interest in the French Revolution has taken her from the social history of politics to concerns with political culture, pornography, psychoanalysis, epistemology, visual culture, time and history, human rights, and, most recently, global approaches. With Vanessa Schwartz, she coedited a special issue of the Journal of Visual Culture, part of a continuing conversation about history’s future.
