Charlotte Bruckermann is an anthropologist specializing in imaginaries of carbon and the role of green labor in the creation of Chinese ecological civilization. Since her doctoral research (DPhil 2013, University of Oxford) she has conducted several years of ethnographic fieldwork across China, including among families in a decarbonizing coal region, emissions experts and carbon footprint app developers in urban centers, and afforestation workers in various rural carbon offset sites. She is a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology and the Global South Studies Center of the University of Cologne.
Sypha Chanthavong is an environmental law lecturer and director of Graduate Programs of the Faculty of Law and Political Science at National University of Laos, based in Vientiane, Lao PDR. His research interests focus on environmental and natural resource laws, particularly water, land, forest, climate justice, and local people's rights related to natural resource management.
