Secular Translations: Nation-State, Modern Self, and Calculative Reason by Talal Asad
Taylor Johnston is a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for the Study of the United States in partnership with the Fulbright Program at Tel Aviv University. She received her PhD in comparative literature from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2019. Her research interests include twentieth-century and contemporary American fiction, African American literature, and critical race theory. Her most recent work explores the representation of Protestantism as a critical epistemology in Marilynne Robinson’s novels.
