stuart davis is professor of linguistics at Indiana University Bloomington. His primary area of research is phonology with a focus on typological issues related to prosodic structure within the word and a language focus on American English and Arabic dialects. kelly berkson is associate professor of linguistics at Indiana University Bloomington. Her research is concerned with phonetic and phonological investigation of typologically rare sounds and patterns as well as with field- work with under- and undocumented languages. She runs the Chin Languages Research Project (https://www.chinlanguages.org/), a collaborative research and service organization focused on languages spoken in Central Indiana’s Burmese refugee community.
