Peer-reviewed manuscript submissions should be 7,000 to 10,000 words in length, including all notes and references. Upon submission, you will be asked to supply a short 100-character (including spaces) author biography, a 150- to 300-word abstract, which should summarize rather than describe the article's content, and a list of 3–5 keywords. The journal supports academic submissions where at least one author is in a PhD program or has a terminal academic degree.
Submissions that do not meet these criteria will be returned for correction.
New Political Science produces four issues a year and occasional issues devoted to a special topic.
Peer Review
All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous double-anonymized peer review following initial editor screening. The editors seek at least two anonymized reviews and may seek additional reviews in cases of reviewer disagreement or when further subject matter expertise is needed. The editors will seek additional rounds of revision and review if appropriate.
Submission Guidelines
New Political Science: A Journal of Politics and Culture is an international, peer-reviewed journal publishing high-quality, original research, invited symposia, scholarly interviews, review essays, and book reviews. The journal aims to make the study of political science relevant to building a more democratic and egalitarian economic, social, and political order. Thus, it focuses on developing analyses that reflect a commitment to progressive social change as well as those that are within exploratory phases of development in political science. The journal adopts the broadest possible definition of “politics” and holds that political and cultural development cannot be understood in isolation from each other.New Political Science is the official journal of the Caucus for a Critical Political Science (CCPS), an independent nonprofit organization, and serves as an organ for its goals and interests.
