After more than three years of work, Ousmane Sembène put the finishing touches on his feature film Moolaadé. This film was selected for the Cannes Film Festival (Un Certain Regard) and had its press screening on May 14, 2004, then its debut on May 15. Several hours after the final postproduction on the film, on April 11, 2004, Sembène graciously granted Samba Gadjigo this interview in Rabat, Morocco.
