Curator of collections in twentieth- and twenty-first-century art in the Musée de Picardie in Amiens, reviewer Sylvie Couderc died on August 19, 2008. Born in 1957, she studied fine arts at the University of Bordeaux III. In 1980, she joined the team of Jean-Louis Froment at the CAPC Museum of Contemporary Art in Bordeaux, writing articles for the exhibition catalogs of artists such as Jean-Charles Blais, Richard Tuttle, and Haïm Steinbach. In the early 1990s, she took up her duties at the Musée de Picardie, where she built up the collection of contemporary art. She was responsible for a large number of one-person exhibitions including, among others, those of the work of Philippe Cognée, the Poiriers, and Philippe Ramette. She also organized exhibitions of contemporary art in Turkey, Australia, and Mexico, with excellent catalogs
