Sindiwe Magona is a South African writer and poet whose work has been widely published and anthologized Among her publications are a two-part autobiography To my children’s Children(David Philip, 1990) which received an honorable mention for the NOMA award, and Forced to Grow (The Women’s Press and Rowholt, 1992) She has also published a collection of short stories: Living, Loving, and Lying Awake at Night (Interlink, 1994), and forthcoming are two novels; Without Bootsraps and Perhaps, I Do Not Die in Vain She lives, and works for the United Nations in New York
