Submission Guidelines

Texts submitted to New German Critique should adhere to the journal's style guide and The Chicago Manual of Style, seventeenth edition. Short-form citations are provided in footnotes, while a references section at the end of the manuscript contains the complete bibliographic information of works cited.

Articles published in NGC are typically 7,000–12,000 words, including notes and references. NGC publishes articles only in English and does not publish book reviews. Submissions to NGC may not be under review elsewhere. As a matter of policy, the journal will not accept more than one simultaneous submission from the same author.

The journal accepts both electronic and paper submissions. Send electronic submissions (preferably Word files) as email attachments to [email protected]. Send paper submissions in triplicate to New German Critique, Department of German Studies, Cornell University, 183 Goldwin Smith Hall, Ithaca, NY 14853. Please remove identifying features from your manuscript file, and include a 100–150 word abstract with your submission.
