Outrageous Behavior: Women's Public Performance in North Africa Available to Purchase
laura chakravarty box is Assistant Professor of Theater at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. Her current research and teaching interests include theater history, theory and criticism, theatrical directing, global performance studies, and gender studies. Her book Strategies of Resistance in the Dramatic Texts of North African Women: A Body of Words was published in 2005. The study identifies thematic sociopolitical issues that appear in sixty-five plays and performance texts by Maghrebian women authors and the theatrical and literary strategies used to address them. Dr. Box is also an actor, director, translator, and dramaturge.
