kristal brent zook is a New York-based scholar and journalist whose work has appeared in the Washington Post, the New York Times Magazine and Essence magazine, among other publications. Currently an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School of Journalism and the Institute for Research in African American Studies at Columbia University, Dr. Zook is the author of Color By Fox: The Fox Network and the Revolution in Black Television (Oxford University Press, 1999).
