The Diversity of Women’s Studies and Women’s Histories: Reflections from South Asia

Ramya Sreenivasan is associate professor of South Asian history at the University of Pennsylvania. As a social historian of transitions to the early modern era and to the colonial era, she studies soldiering groups in northern India between the fourteenth and nineteenth centuries, and works on histories of kinship and households.
