maureen tolman flannery is an award-winning poet whose work has been published in over a hundred literary reviews and anthologies, including Atlanta Review, MidAmerica Poetry Review, and White Pelican Review. She is the recipient of a 2001 Illinois Arts Award and two Pushcart Prize nominations. Her books are Secret of the Rising Up: Poems of Mexico and Remembered into Life. Maureen is editor of Knowing Stones: Poems of Exotic Places. She works for a surgeon in Chicago where she lives with her actor husband Dan and their four children.
