Chitra Divakaruni's The Mistress of Spices: Deploying Mystical Realism
gita rajan is an Associate Professor of English and Director of Asian Studies at Fairfield University where she teaches Victorian, Cultural, and Postcolonial Studies. She was an Andrew Mellon Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania and a Paul Mellon Fellow at the Yale University Center for British Art. She coedited An Introduction to Cultural Studies: History, Theory, Practice; Postcolonial Theory; Changing Cultural Contexts; and English Postcoloniality: Literatures from Around the World. Currently, she is working on a manuscript on ethics in South Asian writing.
