This photograph, taken by Thea Linke, comes to us courtesy of the authors of “The Bali Bombings Monument: Ceremonial Cosmopolis,” an article described below that engages in part with the way that the boundaries between sacred spaces and tourist sites become blurred in Indonesia—as indeed can be the case in many other settings, in Asia and elsewhere.
