Anti-Veiling Campaigns in Turkey: State, Society, and Gender in the Early Republic
MERVE KÜTÜK-KURIŞ is assistant professor of gender and women’s studies in the Department of Sociology at Boğaziçi University. Her research focuses on social and political theory, political ethnography, the sociology of Islam, social movements, and gender studies, with particular reference to the Middle East. She has contributed to various edited volumes and has published in several peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Middle East Women’s Studies, Religions, and Women’s Studies International Forum.
