Paying for Kinship: Muslim Divorce and the Privatization of Insecurity

Katherine Lemons is assistant professor of anthropology at McGill University, where she is also affiliated with the Institute for Islamic Studies. Her research focuses on law, kinship, and gender in contemporary India. Her first book is a study of the role of Islamic divorce in the making of Indian secularism.
