With well over three-thousand entries, this bibliography combines an earlier edition of 1967 with the 1976 edition, the latter including works published since the 1960s. Quite apart from its value for the study of Protestantism, the bibliography is useful as a general bibliographic guide because the compiler has included an excellent and comprehensive section on bibliographic aids which includes most bibliographic and reference tools for the study of Latin America. This is an important guide. Not only does it give a thorough country-by-country, as well as a general, treatment of sources on Protestantism, but it also, by virtue of the major subject, provides material relating to a variety of other topics—politics, violence, human rights, education. The major emphasis is on the history and work of the Protestant mission in Latin America and on the work of Evangelicals. Most entries are annotated.
