This bibliography of bibliographies provides citations from more than one thousand periodicals and includes entries under approximately seventy-five subject headings. In compiling a companion work to his A Bibliography of Latin American Bibliographies (Metuchen, N.J., 1968) and its supplement (1971), Arthur E. Gropp has made another important bibliographic contribution to the Latin Americanist.
The bibliography is divided into major subject headings which are further divided into country and region subdivisions. The major value of this bibliographic tool lies in the extensive number of Latin American periodicals surveyed, although listings are not exclusively drawn from Latin American journals. Aside from the obvious subject heading, of particular interest to the historian will be entries under archives and biography. An index of both persons and subjects facilitates the use of the bibliography.
