This periodical is a record of papers given at the annual meetings of the Southeastern Conference on Latin American Studies (SECOLAS). Each conference and its resulting papers are organized around a central theme: “Aspects of Latin American Development,” “Instruction, Investigation, and Interpretation: Roles of the Latin Americanist,” “Latin America and the Contemporary World: Evolving International Relationships.” Papers cover the social sciences and humanities with each volume containing about a dozen articles. Although the quality of the contributions is uneven, the collection and publication of these papers with their thematic focus makes them of value to the Latin Americanist.
