This book, published during the 150th anniversary of independence and the 50th anniversary of the Mexican Revolution, was prepared primarily for distribution abroad. A new edition is planned every two years to keep it up-to-date.
The numerous subjects dealt with are briefly and skillfully summarized. Its contents include a chronological history of Mexico from pre-Columbian days to the present, the economic, social, and international policy, natural resources, climate, population growth, manufacturing, popular crafts, foreign trade, money and banking, a list of government and private agencies connected with foreign trade, a directory of Mexican exporters, location and description of the important archaeological sites, and important colonial and modern art works, museums, and pictures.
There are numerous pictures, maps, charts, graphs, and tables which would be of interest to the economist, archaeologist, artist, historian, commercial firms, and tourists.
Unfortunately the book has no index or bibliography and documentation is somewhat limited.
