The Nicaraguan Canal Idea to 1913

The author, following his retirement as chief of the Division of State Department Archives of The National Archives in 1945, has continued life-long activities in the Hispanic-American field at his home in Washington, D. C. This paper was presented to the Section on History and Geography of the Eighth American Scientific Congress held in Washington in May, 1940. It was not read.
