This volume collects the revised proceedings of the Fourth International Congress on Silenced Writings, held in September 2014 in Cuzco, Peru. It is the fourth book to come out of the working group on silenced writings (escrituras silenciadas), which first met, as the editors of this volume note, largely in response to the release of the Miccinelli documents in 2001 and the ensuing polemics that surrounded their authenticity (p. 12). Though the 28 articles in this new book do not touch on the contentious issues surrounding the genuineness of these documents, the authorship of the Primer nueva corónica y buen gobierno, the historicity of Blas Valera, and other related issues, readers will note that, at least for members of this working group, Clara Miccinelli continues to provide a model for exemplary scholarship.
