Códice Azoyú 2: El señorío de Tlapa-Tlachinollan is an impressive set that achieves two significant goals: the publication of important primary sources pertaining to the Tlapanec region, and an explication of the region's history through analyses of its pictorial manuscripts.

Located in the modern state of Guerrero, Tlapa-Tlachinollan was associated with the Tlapanec people and came under Mexica control in the fifteenth century. A number of important pictorial documents, recording an array of historical, genealogical, and tributary information, are associated with the region and are published in facsimile form in this volume; these include the Códice Azoyú 2, Humboldt Fragment 1, Lienzo de Tlapa, Códice Veinte Mazorcas, Lienzo de Aztatépec-Citlaltépec, and Lienzo de Chiepetlán.
