This is the long-awaited report of the major study of a small village near Cuernavaca, done in the late fifties and early sixties. It was an in-depth, long-term study of the entire population of the village from a psychoanalytical point of view. In addition to participant observation over a period of years, major reliance is placed on extensive interview and Rorschach data. The results have important implications for social change.
