Gender Identity Complexities Turn
sj Miller, PhD, a trans* + disciplinary award-winning teacher, writer, activist, and scholar, is associate professor of teacher education in the Teacher Academy at Santa Fe Community College. sj’s research is framed around trans*+ disciplinary perspectives on social justice, which cut across theory, epistemology, and pedagogy and links to teacher dispositions and undervalued student identities with a particular emphasis on gender identity. sj has written eight books, over twenty-five book chapters, and fifty articles, and is a contributor to the Huffington Post, BBC Radio, CBS News, GLSEN, Vice, and PBS. In April 2019, sj received the AERA Distinguished Contributions to Gender Equity in Education Research Award.
