Netalie Braun's short film Gevald (2008) is a lesbian love story set in a diverse Jerusalem drag club, against a backdrop of local Orthodox Jewish antigay protests. While the film portrays queerness as secularist, its portrayal of the complexities inherent in the intertwining conflicts in the Holy City ends up telling a more complicated story.
