Teresa A. Toulouse is Professor of English at the University of Colorado, Boulder. A scholar of early American literature, she has published monographs on New England sermons and women's captivity narratives and, with Andrew Delbanco, has edited a volume of Ralph Waldo Emerson's sermons. As Director of American Studies at Tulane, she taught the university's first courses on “nature” writing and eco-criticism, courses she has further developed at Colorado. Most recently, she and Michael Zimmerman co-wrote the entry on “Eco-fascism” in Keywords for Environmental Study (NYU, 2016). Sweet Spots: In-between Spaces in New Orleans (co-edited with Barbara Ewell) is forthcoming in 2018.
