The Wandering Jew as Relic
Lisa Lampert-Weissig holds a PhD in English literature from UC Berkeley. She is professor of English Literature and Comparative Medieval Studies at UC San Diego, where she is also the current holder of the Katzin chair in Jewish Civilization. Her publications include Gender and Jewish Difference from Paul to Shakespeare (2004) and Medieval Literature and Postcolonial Studies (2010). Her research explores questions of anti-Semitism and representations of the outsider in literatures in English, French, and German. Her current research project focuses on the figure of the Wandering Jew in medieval and modern contexts.
