‘Hazardous Business’: Nella Larsen's Passing and Risk Racialization
Jason Puskar is Associate Professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he specializes in American literature and culture from 1880 to 1950. He is the author of Accident Society: Fiction, Collectivity, and the Production of Chance (Stanford University Press, 2012), and his articles have appeared in journals including American Literary History, Daedalus, and Mosaic. He is currently working on a cultural history of the pushbutton from the telegraph to the touchscreen.
