The Materiality of light in Medieval Italian Painting
Christopher R. Lakey received his PhD in the History of Art from the University of California, Berkeley, and holds a MA from the Centre for Medieval Studies, University of Toronto. From 2010-2013 he was an ACLS New Faculty Fellow at Johns Hopkins University, where he is currently assistant professor of Medieval Art. From 2013-2014 he was a Mellon Research Fellow at the Pontifical Institute of Medieval Studies (PIMS), University of Toronto where he pursued a Licentiate in Medieval Studies (LMS) on the topic of “Optical Aesthetics and the Material Imagination in Medieval Italy.”
