Christopher Castiglia is liberal arts research professor at The Pennsylvania State University. His publications include Bound and Determined: Captivity, Culture-Crossing and White Womanhood From Mary Rowlandson to Patty Hearst (1996), Interior States: Institutional Consciousness and the Inner Life of Democracy in the Antebellum U.S. (2008), and If Memory Serves: Gay Men, AIDS, and the Promise of the Queer Past (with Chrisotpher Reed) (2011). Current projects include The Practices of Hope: Critical Possibility after the Cold War.
