For Translation: Virginia Woolf, J. M. Coetzee, and Transnational Comparison
Rebecca L. Walkowitz is associate professor of English and affiliate faculty in comparative literature at Rutgers University. In 2012-2013, she is the Walter Jackson Bate Fellow in World Literature at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard. Her publications include Cosmopolitan Style: Modernism beyond the Nation (2006), Immigrant Fictions (2007), and Bad Modernisms (edited with Douglas Mao, 2006). Her current project, Born Translated: The Contemporary Novel in an Age of World Literature, will be published by Columbia University Press in the Literature Now series. Walkowitz is second vice president of the Modernist Studies Association and co-founder of the NYNJ Modernism Seminar.
