Marcia Douglas grew up in Jamaica. She is the author of the novels Madam Fate (Soho Press, 1999 and Women's Press, 1999), Notes from a Writer's Book of Cures and Spells (Peepal Tree Press, 2005), the forthcoming “House of Zion,” as well as a poetry collection, Electricity Comes to Cocoa Bottom (Peepal Tree Press, 1999). She is an associate professor at the University of Colorado Boulder.
