Andrew Elliott is in the final stages of a PhD at the University of Kyoto, focusing on Anglophone writing about interior travel in Bakumatsu and Meiji Japan. He has an MA in American literature and culture from the University of Leeds, UK, and has published articles in Journeys: The International Journal of Travel and Travel Writing and the electronic journal of contemporary Japanese studies.
