Cathrine O. Frank is associate professor of English at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine, where she teaches courses in British literature and law and literature. She is the author of Law, Literature, and the Transmission of Culture in England, 1837–1925 (Ashgate, 2010) and co-editor of Law and Humanities: An Introduction (Cambridge, 2009). She is collaborating on a volume on the pedagogy of law and literature for the MLA's Options for Teaching series, and is developing a new project on the idea of character and the links between writing and reputation in Victorian law and literature.
