Hollis Robbins is a professor of humanities at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University and associate research scholar in the Center for Africana Studies. Her most recent book is a Penguin Classics edition of Frances E.W. Harper's 1892 novel lola Leroy, or Shadows Uplifted (2010).
