Austin Sarat is William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Jurisprudence and Political Science at Amherst College and Justice Hugo L. Black Visiting Senior Scholar at the School of Law, University of Alabama. He is the author or editor of more than 70 books. He is currently writing a book titled Hollywood's Law: Film, Fatherhood, and the Legal Imagination.

Martha Merrill Umphrey is professor of law, jurisprudence, and social thought at Amherst College. Her research sits generally at the intersection of law, culture, and American studies in the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
