Andrew Smith is professor of English Studies at the University of Glamorgan (Wales, UK) where he is co-director of the Research Centre for Literature, Arts and Science (RCLAS). Publications include Gothic Literature (Edinburgh University Press, 2007), Victorian Demons (Manchester University Press, 2004), and Gothic Radicalism (Palgrave Macmillan, 2000). He is joint-president of the International Gothic Association and co-editor of “Gothic Literary Studies” and “Gothic Authors: Critical Revisions” (both series published by the University of Wales Press). His monograph The Ghost Story 1840–1920: A Cultural History is forthcoming from Manchester University Press.
