What is Graphic about Graphic Novels?
Joanna Drucker has published and lectured widely on topics in the history of graphic design, book arts, typography, and experimental poetry. She has held faculty positions at Yale, Harvard, Columbia University, and the University of Virginia. Her recent titles include: Graphic Design History: A Critical Guide (with Emily McVarish) (Prentice Hall 2008), Sweet Dreams: Contemporary Art and Complicity (University of Chicago Press 2005), and the forthcoming SpecLab: Digital Aesthetics and Speculative Computing.
