Stuart Sherman, associate professor of English at Fordham University, is editor of the section on the Restoration and eighteenth century in the Longman Anthology of British Literature. He received the Gottschalk Prize for his Telling Time: Clocks, Diaries, and English Diurnal Form (1996), and is at work on a book titled News and Plays: Evanescences of Page and Stage 1620–1779.
